Rooted in Rhythm, Ready to Grow
Our mixed-age Waldorf kindergartens include ample free play, circle time, storytelling, preparation and sharing of meals, and a mix of practical and artistic work. Sensory-rich experiences—like painting, sewing, finger knitting, baking, wet felting, hammering, cooking and gardening—nurture creativity and joy, and approximately half of each day is spent outdoors on or around our beautiful wooded campus, fostering a love for the natural world.
Guided by a deep understanding of early childhood development, our teachers create a calm, loving environment that inspires learning and nurtures fundamental capacities for academic study in the grades. Attention span, hand-eye coordination, pattern recognition, fine & gross motor skills, and a love for language are developed, and activities support emerging literacy, numeracy, and imaginative and spatial thinking.

Kindergarten Highlights
Learning to care for one another
In our mixed-age kindergarten, children learn cooperation, sharing, and self-control by living and working alongside peers of different ages. Teachers model and guide healthy social habits throughout the day, helping children build independence, resilience, and genuine care for one another.
Growing confidence, capability, and connection
About half of each kindergarten day is spent outdoors on our wooded campus, where children run, climb, and play freely across the seasons. This daily immersion in nature builds gross motor skills and physical confidence while cultivating a lasting relationship with the natural world.
Falling in love with language
Storytelling and puppet shows are woven into the daily and weekly rhythm of kindergarten, bringing fairy tales and nature stories to life. These experiences strengthen listening, memory, and a love of language, laying the groundwork for literacy in the grades ahead.
Learning by doing
Kindergartners take part in real, purposeful tasks — baking bread, grinding grain, gardening, sewing, and woodworking alongside their classmates. This hands-on work builds fine and gross motor skills while giving children a genuine sense of capability, purpose, and belonging.
