Welcome to the WHWS community!
We are still accepting enrollments for the 2026-27 school year. Please review the following steps to apply. We are excited to hear from you!
Step 1: Schedule a Tour
Visiting in person is the best way to get a feel for the school and community, so tours are an essential part of our application process. Tours are available on most weekdays - please schedule directly here or send us an email if you can’t find an available time that works for you.
Step 2: Apply Online
You can submit an initial application through our enrollment platform, FACTS. Please submit a separate application for each child you are hoping to enroll, and note that there is a $100 application fee due upon submission.
Please note that some grades are currently accepting waitlist applications only. Contact Admissions before applying if you have questions.
Step 3: Send Additional Materials
Depending on your application, we may request additional information such as teacher recommendations, school records, etc. We’ll reach out directly after we’ve received your application.
Step 4: Connect with Your Teacher
Once your application is complete, we will schedule a conversation with your prospective class teacher. This is an opportunity for the teacher to get to know you and your child beyond the application—to hear your family's story, ask thoughtful questions, and begin building a relationship before your child joins the class community.
Step 5: Experience Our Community
Based on your conversation with the teacher, your child may be invited for a classroom visit. We are a small school with a focus on tight-knit classes and community, so it’s especially important for us to make sure that Whatcom Hills is a good fit for your family. For students entering grade school, this typically includes a three-day classroom visit where they can experience the rhythm and flow of a WHWS day, meet classmates, and become familiar with our learning environment.
Early Childhood families are invited to connect through summer meet-and-greets and playdates, where children can meet teachers, explore the classroom and play yards, and begin forming connections before the school year begins.
Step 6: Enroll
After your student’s visit (if applicable) and conversations with the teacher, we will give an admissions decision. If your student is offered a spot at Whatcom Hills we will invite you to submit their full registration. A $450 deposit is required to secure a space in the class. We will also send you a tuition contract to complete at the same time, with the first payment due by August 1st. Multiple installment plans are available, and you will also have the opportunity to apply for financial aid if interested.
