 Lookout!Look out! Jack Frost is about! He's after our fingers and toes; And all through the night, That little sprite is working where nobody knows... The First Grade is currently immersed in the Troll Kingdom. A Kingdom that includes gnomes, sprites, pixies, trolls and has recently seen a good and fine King ascend to the throne. Peter Pastureman, the smallest of the trolls, has become King and, through his goodness, awakened four very important gnomes. Porter Plus, Minnie Minus, Tessie Times, and Divy Divide had burrowed themselves deep into the Great Mountain during the evil Troll King's reign, but with Peter Pastureman's ascension to the throne they bring out the magical purple cape and declare Peter, King Equalus. One by one the gnomes introduce themselves to King Equalus and begin mining for jewels. Although each gnome collects jewels in their own special way, they have a shared purpose: to work together and create a better land.  So begins the First Grade's adventures into the four processes. We are stomping, walking, and shuffling like trolls, putting on our gnome hats and mining for jewels. We use the jewels in our jewel bags to figure out how many jewels Porter has collected from the mines, when he wasn't distracted by a hearty breakfast of pancakes and maple syrup. At times, the children are apples as Porter distributes them to the hardworking donkeys in the mines.In the First Grade the children are hard at work creating a better land.
